Marengo City Council considers awarding infrastructure contract

The Marengo City Council met Monday.

The Marengo City Council includes the mayor, city clerk and two aldermen elected from each of the city’s four wards. The council meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month at City Hall, 132 Prairie St.

Here is the meeting agenda as provided by Marengo:

4. Public Participation (Interested parties are invited to speak for two minutes on any item listed on the agenda. Any person wishing to address the city council must approach the podium, be recognized by the Mayor, and provide their name for the record)

5. Approval of minutes: June 20, 2016, Special meeting minutes, June 27, 2016 Regular meeting minutes

6. Approval of the list of bills

7. Consent agenda

a. Action on a resolution for settlers' days closure of state Route 23

b. Action on an intergovernmental agreement with Marengo and Riley Township regarding McRide cost sharing program

8. New business

a. Public hearing - Ordinance making the appropriations for FY 16/17 and certification of estimated revenues

b. Action on and ordinance making the appropriations for FY 16/17 and certification of estimated revenues

c. Award an infrastructure completion contract to the low bidder, Geske and Sons Inc. of Crystal Lake, for $185,243.45.

d. Action on resolution reaffirming the chain of command
