Still time to sign up for summer sports camps

SportsCity Academy has teamed up with Hot Shots Sports to offer a number of youth sports camps this summer, and it's not too late to get in on the action.

Boys and girls ages 8 to 12 can participate in a basketball camp, 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Aug. 8 through Aug. 12.

The camp will focus on improving the fundamentals of individual play and enhancing team play abilities.Some of the areas covered include dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting, and individual and team defense. 

Two Sports and More camps will be offered to boys and girls ages 5 to 7 from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, Aug. 1-5 and Aug. 8-12.

Participants will be introduced to a variety of sports including football, baseball, kickball, floor hockey, soccer and basketball. The camps will focus on skill development and fundamentals for each sport, followed by game play. The coaches will ensure a positive, energetic experience while helping young athletes to develop skills.

Cost is $80 per session for any camp and includes a camp T-shirt. 

Participants at all the camps should bring a snack and drink each day.
