Rural Woodstock Public Library Board approves logo

The Rural Woodstock Public Library Board of Trustees met May 4.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the Rural Woodstock Public Library:

CALL TO ORDER: President, Jan Vanderspool, called the regular meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

PRESENT: Jan Vanderspool, Pat Schuler, Kathleen Hahn, Diane Range Magnuson, Rick Johnson, Marty Sobczak

ABSENT: Stacy Iwanicki

OTHERS PRESENT: Library Director, Nick Weber

City Manager, Roscoe Stelford

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

Diane Range Magnuson moved to approve the minutes of the April 6, 2016, meeting as corrected.

Pat Schuler seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Nick Weber informed the Board that a check was received from the State for Replacement Tax.

He also reported that the Preliminary Tax Numbers for FY 2016-17 total $387,464.94.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

Kathy Hahn moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report for April, 2016. Marty Sobczak seconded the motion and the motion passed with unanimously.

APPROVAL OF EXPENDITURES:

There were no expenses in April requiring Board action.

LIBRARIAN’S REPORT:

Nick Weber discussed the Statistical Report on circulation, materials, reference, programs, cards issued and cataloging. He reported on upcoming library programs, including the Summer Reading Program with the 125th Anniversary Theme: “Paging Through Time”.

NEW BUSINESS:

125th Anniversary Update:

Nick Weber asked to report on the anniversary update at the joint meeting to follow with the City Board.

Discussion on Next Meeting:

The Board will meet on June 1, 2016, to take required action on items to come before the board.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

Nick Weber showed the Board what the new RWPLB Logo would be if approved. Marty Sobczak motioned to approve the new logo as presented. Rick Johnson seconded and the motion passed unanimously.

ADJOURN MEETING:

Diane Range Magnuson moved to adjourn the meeting. Marty Sobczak seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Board adjourned at 6:48 pm.
