Steve Reick, the Republican candidate for the District 63 state House seat, is seeking Election Day workers.

Reick seeks help for many polling locations and to encourage supporters to vote. Since the polls open early on Election Day, help is needed as early as 6 a.m. until polls close at 7 p.m.

Those willing to work the entire day at a polling location will receive breakfast, lunch and get paid.

Training will be held for all election day workers during the last week of this month. Since there are 58 polling locations, many people are needed.

Reick, a tax attorney, is running against Democratic opponent John Bartman, a fifth-generation farmer and former Illinois Department of Transportation employee. This is Reick's second attempt at winning the House seat. Reick ran against state Rep. Jack Franks (D-Woodstock) in 2014.,This year Franks decided to step down after winning the Democratic primary and run for McHenry County Board chairman instead.

Reick placed property taxes, education and public pensions high on his list of issues that should be dealt with in the assembly. He supports Gov. Bruce Rauner's Turnaround Agenda and opposes further tax increases, expressing support for reforms in the tax system, as long as taxes don't increase.
