Burton Township met  April 11.

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

Supervisor Jones called the regular monthly meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Village Hall, Spring Grove, IL.

Roll call present: Supervisor Jones, Clerk Shetsky, Road Commissioner Sutton, Trustees; Eileen Miller, Merrilee Anhalt, John Flood, Dennis Riechert and Assessor Jessica Hubert.

Supervisor Jones led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on March 14, 2017 were read. Trustee: John Flood made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Trustee Eileen Miller. The accounts payable were presented for payment for the various funds, they were audited, initialed and ordered paid.

Open Annual Town Meeting

•Mrs. Anhalt made a motion to open the Annual Meeting at 7:20 pm and was seconded by Mr. Sutton, voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

Accept Moderator for Annual Meeting

•Mrs. Miller made a motion to accept Venetia Jones as the moderator for the Annual Town meeting and was seconded by Mr. Riechert, voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

Moderator Fee

•Mr. Flood made a motion to accept the moderator fee of $35.00 to the moderator and was seconded by Mrs. Miller. Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

Adjournment of the Annual Meeting

•Mr. Flood made a motion to adjourn the annual meeting at 7:26 pm and was seconded by Mr. Sutton, Voice vote, all ayes, motion carried.

Supervisors Report

•Sam received a quote of $17,000.00 from a company in Wisconsin to move the Town Hall. He is waiting to hear back from a second co. located in Indiana.

Because of the height of the Hall and the equipment, the Comcast and Frontier lines would need to be dropped during the move. Sam will check into this cost.

Sam will ask Jessica fort the measurements of the Village Hall property and our property on Blivin. We can compare to each one.

Trustee Eileen Miller asked why we can’t look into moving the hall to our property on Blivin. Sam agreed to check into this.

•Our Town and Road Budgets will be changed to March for 2018 instead of April/May.

This will help the accountants keep on track.

Road Commissioners Report

•Performing maintenance on trucks.

•Repairing potholes and chipping throughout the Township.

•Repaving on Muriel, Ravinia and North Shore will happen this year.

Assessors Report:

•Doing assessments for buyers looking to move into the area.

•There were a total of 86 appeals total.

•Assessor association dues are due, Jessica will submit the invoice once she receives it.

•Jessica will be out of town April 22 through the 27th with access to emails.

Clerks Report:

•No report at this time.

Trustees Report:

•Trustee Merrilee informed us the Senior Transportation plant sale on May 20, 2017. The hours are 8am to 12pm or until all plants are sold out.

New Business:

•No report at this time.

•No report at this time.

A motion was made by Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt to adjourn the meeting at 7:45, it was seconded by Trustee: John Flood, voice vote all ayes, motion carried.
