Rep. Barbara Wheeler (R-Crystal Lake) is asking residents of McHenry and Lake counties to actively help make sure they get the assistance they need during flood-related emergencies.
On her website, Wheeler points out that since counties bare the responsibility of reporting damage to commercial and residential property in order to get federal and state aid, residents can be of great assistance. Those calling in need to notify officials if they have flood insurance.
In McHenry County, residents can call 815-334-4560 or go to the county's website at www.co.mchenry.il.us/ to report flood damage. The website also has information on resources.

Wheeler has represented the 64th District since 2013 and moved to Crystal Lake in 1998. The 64th District contains parts of Lake and McHenry counties and includes the cities of Antioch, Fox Lake, Crystal Lake and McHenry.
