U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) recently joined fellow Illinois lawmakers in applauding the nomination of John Lausch as U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, according to a press release.
Roskam, along with U.S. Reps. John Shimkus (R-IL), Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) and Randy Hultgren (R-IL), praised Lausch's record and said he was ideal for the role. Lausch was an assistant U.S. attorney from 1999 to 2010 and currently works as a Chicago attorney.
“We are very pleased that Mr. Lausch has drawn bipartisan support to serve as the next U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois,” the lawmakers said in a joint statement. “In our conversations with him, and in a great deal of feedback we have received, we believe that his background, experience and thoughtfulness provide great confidence in his capacity to lead the office and meet the urgent challenges facing our community.”
