Sen. Karen McConnaughay (R-St. Charles) has recognized southern Illinois' Eden’s Glory as “a human trafficking hero," according to her website.
Eden’s Glory is a faith-based organization that provides in-patient care for women 18 to 30 years of age who have been victims of human trafficking.
"Through lies and manipulation, beatings and abuse, loss and trauma, these women have often lost all sense of self and pride, giving up on dreams they once held for the future," the Eden's Glory website says.

McConnaughay described the residential program as "a sanctuary and a place to heal."
