McHenry County EMA Coordinating Council met March 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

2pm Welcome: David Christensen/EMA Director

 Had 301 working group (12 person panel) meeting; challenges ahead; new requirements are way over the top; burden is too great for local EMA’s; had a breakthrough and found middle ground; changes are being reviewed; now reads consistent with instead of conforming to EMAP standards.

LEPC

 Public Comment – None

 Incidents – One

 LEPC Chairman – Position is open

 LEPC Composition per the Administrative Code

o Increased challenge to LEPC and Chief Elected Official response plan for each facility

Mutual Aid Partners

 ARC – Jackie Speciale: Red Cross Pillow Case Program for 3rd – 5 th graders set for May in Crystal Lake; Feb responses to Cary & Wonder Lake

 CHUG – Tom Smith: Branched out to New Jersey for training; Senate Bill 2232/Health Care-direct impact on IEMA

 ILEAS – Jim Hutton: Great Lakes Naval Base has signed an agreement with ILEAS allowing for greater resource sharing from the base.

301 Administrative Rule

 Resource & Resource Management with Dave Christensen

 WEBEOC (Incident Management Software) – State will start to roll out which includes resource management; form on line (in system); resource requests in the future will be done this way

 Bob Ellsworth/EMA Resource Handouts – Resource Capabilities as an agency available upon request; if more are needed, we will reach out to our regional office with request

 Other partners with resources include: ILEAS, MABAS, ARC, IPWMAN, IESMA

 Need to get a better grasp of what equipment/assets/resources are available; tasked to be a coordinated point of contact for this

 Natural Hazard Mitigation Annual Update & Review – Thursday, November 29th, 2:30pm, McHenry County Mental Health Board building, 620 Dakota, Crystal Lake. All are encouraged to attend; all are welcome.
