Sen. Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) is taking care of tax lien and community college acts.
Before introducing SB2958 at the April 18 Senate floor debate, Althoff asked her peers to recall the State Lien Tax Registration Act.
“This bill is a trailer bill that provides that the notice of tax lien includes the county or counties where the real property of the debtor to which the lien attached is located,” Althoff said.

After SB2958 passed 57-0, Althoff presented SB2968, which would amend the Public Community College Act.
According to the bill synopsis, "it provides that the board of trustees of a community college district may enter into a contract for goods or services procured from a competitively bid group purchase contract without adhering to the competitively bid contract requirements under the Act.”
SB2968 also passed unanimously and moved to a House committee.
