President Norton called the regular meeting of the Board of Education of Alden-Hebron Community Consolidated Unit School District #19 to order at 7:01 p.m.
Roll Call
PRESENT: Mr. Norton, Mr. Winkelman, Mrs. Combs, Mr. Madsen, Mr. Eskridge, Mr. Stauss, Ms. Coulman
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT:
Dr. Ehlenburg-Superintendent, Tiffany Elswick-ES Principal, Tim Hayunga-MS/HS Principal, Scott Redden-Building and Grounds, Maggie Bradley-4th Grade Teacher,

Mr. Winkelman informed the BOE and others present that spring sports are starting on March 16 and that there will be a fundraiser at Crandall’s on 3/12 for the HSBB & HSSB teams.

The following were reviewed under the consent agenda.

Mr. Eskridge moved, Mr. Madsen seconded to approve the consent agenda as presented.
Ayes: Mr. Norton, Mr. Winkelman, Mrs. Combs, Mr. Madsen, Mr. Eskridge, Mr. Stauss, Ms. Coulman

Physical Structures/Maintenance
1. A tour of the MS/HS building was conducted and taken by all attending the meeting.
2. Bradley & Bradley Architectural firm spoke to the BOE and those in attendance regarding the current MS/HS building status.
3. Tammie Beckwith Schallmo from PMA Securities presented a referendum discussion for those in attendance. Among items covered in the discussion were timeline for a referendum, referendum “do’s and don’ts”, and community engagement sessions.
*4. Mr. Eskridge moved, Mr. Madsen seconded to develop a steering committee to assess District facilities.
Motion carried.
Dr. Ehlenburg requested the BOE members and school administrators compile lists and share names of people who could be part of a steering committee to assess District facilities. Names to be submitted by the March 20, 2018 BOE meeting.

Board Comments
Mr. Norton thanked the evening’s presenters for being here. He commented that the HS
Sports Banquet went very well and thanked the coaches, and that the Alumni Basketball game was good. He reminded the BOE and those present about the HSBB/HSSB fundraiser at Crandall’s on March 12 and the MS/HS musical on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10.
Mr. Madsen commented that the PTO-sponsored Donkey Basketball game was wellattended and that it was a nice community event.

Mr. Eskridge moved, Mr. Madsen seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:44 pm.
