CARY PARK DISTRICT: Timbertown Picket Request & Commemorative T-shirts

Fundraising event

Cary Park District recently issued the following announcement.

The Park District is providing the opportunity for individuals and families to request their fence picket that they purchased as part of the fundraising efforts during the original construction in 1994.

To request your picket:

  • Please use the electronic request form. All fields within the form must be complete. Click ‘Submit’ at the bottom of the form to complete your request. If you are requesting multiple pickets, please complete and submit a separate form for each picket.
  • Requests will be taken from June 8 – July 8, 2018.
  • Be sure to include your email address as this will be how you will be contacted on when and where your picket will be available for pick up.
The Park District will make every effort to remove the picket without damaging it. The Park District is not responsible for any damage caused by the removal of pickets. Guests of the park should not remove the pickets on their own as this will be treated as vandalism.

Starting in July construction at Kaper Park will begin. The improvements to the park include a new playground area, splash pad, restrooms, picnic shelter, accessibility improvements, and charging station. Replacing a community icon is a challenge, however with input from residents, the Park District has chosen an option that it hopes will bring the same type of “wow” factor to children that Timbertown has always elicited.
