City of McHenry recently issued the following announcement.
The Pearl Street and Lincoln Road project is schedule to begin this spring and be completed prior to winter; construction will close the Pearl Street bridge in July after Fiesta Days.
Project limits begin on Pearl Street at IL 31 and continue east across the Fox River on Lincoln Road ending near Chapel Hill Road.
The project includes a new bike path connecting McHenry Middle School to the Fox River, bridge repairs to Pearl Street over the Fox River, installation of sanitary sewer stubs, improvements/upgrades to sidewalk crossings and handicap ramps at the intersections and resurfacing.
Impacts to traffic are anticipated to be minimal; however, daily lane closures will be required to install storm and sanitary sewer service stubs.
During repairs to the Pearl Street Bridge, it will be closed and traffic will be detoured to River Road, Riverside Drive and IL 120.
