CARY PARK DISTRICT: Thank You Timbertown Gathering July 7

Mesa

Cary Park District recently issued the following announcement.

The Cary Park District invites the community to join in a “Thank You Timbertown” gathering during the playground’s final weekend on Saturday, July 7 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm.

Bring your family and friends for the last opportunity to enjoy a long standing presence in our community, Timbertown playground in Kaper Park, the Leathers timber structure that has served the community for 24 years.

During the event guests may play on the structure and will receive a keepsake booklet and each family may receive a commemorative Timbertown ornament by completing all the play activities throughout the event. An ice cream truck will be available to purchase refreshments or bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the afternoon around the park with your family. Commemorative T-shirts are also available for purchase through Sunday, June 24 and will be available for pickup at the Community Center prior to the event so you can show your Timbertown love at the event. Make your purchase online.

The Park District is providing the opportunity for individuals and families to request their fence picket that they purchased as part of the fundraising efforts during the original construction in 1994. Pickets may be requested online using the online request form.

Beginning July 9, the playground will be closed as construction of the new playground and amenities begin. Improvements at Kaper Park include a new playground area, restrooms and storage building, splash pad, and a new walkway from the parking lot to the playground.
