Cary-Grove Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on June 20.
The Cary Park District invites the community to join in a “Thank You Timbertown” gathering on Saturday, July 7 from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Bring your family and friends for the last opportunity to enjoy a long standing presence in our community, Timbertown playground in Kaper Park, the Leathers timber structure that has served the community for 24 years.
During the event guests may play on the structure and will receive a keepsake booklet. Each family may receive a commemorative Timbertown ornament by completing all the play activities throughout the event. An ice cream truck will be available to purchase refreshments or bring a picnic dinner and enjoy the afternoon around the park with your family. Commemorative T-shirts are also available for purchase through Sunday, June 24 and will be available for pickup at the Community Center prior to the event. Shirts are $12 each and may be purchased online at carypark.com or at the Community Center, 255 Briargate Road, Cary.
Beginning July 9, the playground will be closed as construction of the new playground and amenities begin. Improvements at Kaper Park include a new playground,
restrooms, splash pad and walkway. More information on the park design can be found at carypark.com
