Richmond TWP FPD responds to 58 fires in 2017

Richmond Township Fire Protection District responded to 94 calls in 2017 - 30.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Richmond included 58 fires - 34 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 17 other fires.

In all, the department saw $87,460 in fire loss - or about $1,508 per fire.

The department also received 36 false calls.

The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related injuries.

The Richmond Township Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $953,360 in 2017.
