Village of Cary issued the following announcement on July 9.

The Villages of Algonquin and Cary are developing a subarea plan that will establish a shared vision for the quarry sites and surrounding land area along the IL Route 31 corridor.

The Algonquin-Cary Subarea Plan will identify desired land uses, development concepts, and provide a road map for achieving long-term goals for the corridor.

The plan is being developed in cooperation with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) through the Local Technical Assistance Planning Grant program.

On July 23rd, a Community Workshop will be held at 7:00 PM at the Cary Park District Community Center (255 Briargate Road, Cary) to discuss the corridor area.

All residents, business owners, community leaders and other stakeholders from the area are invited to join us at the workshop as the Villages of Algonquin and Cary and CMAP begin the process to create the new plan.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
