Village of Mc Cullom Lake Board met Nov. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

President Shepit called the meeting to order at 7:04 P.M.

Pledge of Allegiance

Roll Call: By the Village Clerk, Sherri L. Messina

Present: President Shepit, Attorney Shaw, Trustees Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter.

Minutes: Trustee Matthesius made a motion to approve the minutes with slight corrections; seconded by Trustee Walter. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Bills: Trustee Mazurek made a motion to pay the bills; seconded by Trustee Matthesius. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Parks & Beach: Attorney Shaw added verbiage to the Hall Rental Agreement – This will be added to the next meeting’s agenda.

Roads: Trustee Walter mentioned that there is still a drainage issue up at West End and West Lane. President Shepit stated that AT&T finally came out and filled up the holes they had made and removed the fencing. The Dead End sign is in for Greenwood. President Shepit just needs to contact J.U.L.I.E. before Paul puts the sign in.

Communications: President Shepit stated that we have been having problems with our email and she found an external backup called Click Fire because our old one was not working and purchased it for $179.00. Trustee Bogacz and Matthesius stated that after backing up with the Click Fire it should be removed from the premises for safe keeping. Attorney Shaw suggested that President Shepit could also check the Cloud for storage keeping.

New Business: Approval to have only one meeting in December and to pay the December bills – Trustee Matthesius made a motion to have only one meeting in December and to pay the December bills; seconded by Trustee Bogacz. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Ordinance Approving an Anti-Discrimination Policy – Trustee Fritz made a motion to approve Ordinance #505 Anti-Discrimination Policy; seconded by Trustee Given. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor motion carried.

Ordinance Approving Prevailing Wage Rates – Trustee Matthesius made a motion to approve Ordinance #506 Amending the Prevailing Wage Rates; seconded by Trustee Mazurek. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Ordinance Abating 2018 Taxes for Series 2011 General Obligation Bond – Trustee Matthesius made a motion to approve Ordinance #507 Abating Taxes for Series 2011 General Obligation Bond; seconded by Trustee Walter. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Trustee Bogacz made a motion to adjourn the Regular Board meeting at 7:21 P.M. to go in to Executive Session for Personnel Reasons; seconded by Trustee Fritz. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

President Shepit called the Regular Board meeting back into session at 7:43 P.M.

Roll Call: President Shepit, Attorney Shaw, Trustee Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Approval of Settlement Agreement on Employee Matter – Trustee Bogacz, made a motion to approve the Settlement Agreement; seconded by Trustee Fritz. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.

Audience: Glenn Gates noticed that the Crown Vic was back at the Village and would like some information on it. President Shepit needs to talk with Chief Beatty first.

Cindy inquired about the sample disclaimer that she would like Attorney Shaw to look at and approve. Once it’s approved they will post it on the Village’s Facebook page.

Discussion: Trustee Bogacz brought up the Village Guest Pass and that they were planning on having the children design it at the annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Christmas party but because of everything that goes on that day they have decided against it and would like to reach out to Cindy’s teens about designing it and also a new design for next year’s Village stickers as well.

President Shepit brought up that the newest office person Justin is learning his new job and also working on our webpage.

Trustee Walter inquired if there was a possibility of the Village Board meeting the new Building Inspector. President Shepit stated that she will contact him.

Trustee Matthesius mentioned one of our newer trees is dead and that we need to act on it because we have a warranty on it.

Christmas Carolers will meet on Wednesday’s at 7:00 P.M.

The MCCOG we hosted in October was awesome! We had a great turnout. Our guest speaker had a lot of scenario’s that he presented that a lot us never even thought about on what to be ready for in a disaster. Cindy sent out thank you cards and was told that seven (7) people went up to our guest speaker afterwards and inquired about how to get an Emergency Preparedness Plan started for their communities.

December 12th is the next MCCOG meeting.

Trustee Matthesius made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 P.M.; seconded by Trustee Mazurek. Voice vote: Bogacz, Fritz, Given, Matthesius, Mazurek, Walter=ayes. All in favor, motion carried.
