Administrators in Marengo-Union Elementary Community School District 165 earn an average of $101,282 per year, ranking 381st out of 864 districts in the state, according to a McHenry Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 15.9% higher than in 2014 and 19.4% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 5.6% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Mchenry County school district enrolled 1016 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 254 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
