WOODSTOCK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY: Clinic Receives Grant

Grant

Woodstock Chamber of Commerce & Industry issued the following announcement on Feb. 6.

The Family Health Partnership Clinic received a $15,000 grant from the McHenry County Mental Health Resource League (MHRL) to help provide nursing services to uninsured patients. The Mental Health Resource League has provided over $5.7 million to McHenry County agencies since its inception in 1967.

Family Health Partnership Clinic provides high quality healthcare to the uninsured residents of McHenry County. Working with over 22 volunteer providers and a dedicated staff, it provides primary care, dental services, integrated mental health and a mobile health program to those who might otherwise go without healthcare. The Clinic is not free; it charges on a sliding fee scale based on income and family size, but no one is turned away if they cannot pay.

The Mental Health Resource League is an all volunteer organization that raises funds for McHenry County mental health services through its successful Fall Diddley and Fair Diddley craft fairs, drawing thousands of people to the Woodstock Square in the spring and to the Boone County Fairgrounds in the fall. This year, the League will give out more than $238,000 to area organizations.

“This partnership with the Mental Health Resource League is vital,” says Suzanne Hoban, Executive Director of the Family Health Partnership Clinic. “The League recognizes that mental health and physical health are intimately connected, and their support ensure that our patients continue to receive excellent care.”
