The price of local government in 2017: City of Woodstock

The City of Woodstock budget was $35.23 million for its 2017 fiscal year, or $4,702 per household.

That's a decrease of 1.2 percent from 2016, when the city spent $35.64 million, or $4,757 per household.

Woodstock has 7,493 households and a population of 25,525.

Since 2001, the City of Woodstock budget has fallen by 6.9 percent, from $37.85 million. The city population has grown 26.7 percent over the same period, from 20,151.

Salaries accounted for 31.2 percent of city spending in 2017. Woodstock property taxpayers paid $10.98 million for 152 full-time employees and 161 part-time employees.
