Q1 2018 Recap: Parolees in Woodstock convicted of sex crimes

There were two offenders convicted of sex crimes released on parole in Woodstock during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McHenry Times.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Woodstock were men. The younger parolee was a 40-year-old man sentenced in 2011. The other was a 62-year-old man sentenced in 2008.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Tai Ngoc. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2011 when he was 32 years old. He is now 40.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
