Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in McHenry County?

There were 26 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in McHenry County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by McHenry Times.

The data shows that 22 men and four women were released in McHenry County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 37. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old woman sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced for a crime against one or more children in 2015.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was John Bierman. He was convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2016 when he was 56 years old. He is now 61.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each McHenry County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
