Crystal Lake Fire District responded to 821 calls in 2018 - 1.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Crystal Lake included 91 fires - 32 structure fires, 14 vehicle fires and 45 other fires.

In all, the department saw $833,860 in fire loss - or about $9,163 per fire.

The department also received 730 false calls, including five malicious calls and 725 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, one fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.

The Crystal Lake Fire District had an annual budget of $1,711,134 in 2018.

The Crystal Lake Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 63 active employees and 31 retired or inactive employees, was $1,217,609 positive as of April 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $16,454 for every fire in 2017.
