Algonquin-Lake In The Hill FPD responds to 65 fires in 2018

Algonquin-Lake In The Hill Fire Protection District responded to 764 calls in 2018 - 15.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Algonquin-Lake In The Hill included 65 fires - 38 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 21 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $388,500 in fire loss - or about $5,977 per fire.

The department also received 697 false calls, including one malicious call and 696 other false calls.

The Algonquin-Lake In The Hill Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $8,398,815 in 2017.
