Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in McHenry County?

There were 43 offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in McHenry County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by McHenry Times.

The data shows that 35 men and eight women were released in McHenry County. The median age of the parolees was 34. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2019, and the oldest was a 58-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving alcohol in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jerome L. Vonner. He was convicted of homicide in 1994 when he was 24 years old. He is now 51.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each McHenry County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
