McHENRY COUNTY: County Board to Meet Remotely for Its Full November Meetings

Calendar 01

McHenry County issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

The McHenry County Board will meet by teleconference for its upcoming Committee of the Whole and monthly voting meetings to comply with state measures temporarily limiting gatherings to 25 people.

The limit has been imposed on McHenry County by the state to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Both meetings will be streamed live on the county Meeting Portal, which can be found on the county website at www.mchenrycountyil.gov. The Committee of the Whole starts at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, and the monthly voting meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17.

People who wish to offer public comment for either meeting can do so by emailing it to PublicComment@mchenrycountyil.gov. The deadline to offer comment for the Committee of the Whole is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, and 5 p.m. the night of the full voting meeting.

Meetings of the County Board’s standing committees, which also are streamed live online, will still take place in person.

Such virtual meetings comply with the Open Meetings Act because the provision of the law requiring a quorum of elected members to be physically present has been temporarily suspended by an executive order from Gov. JB Pritzker.

McHenry County has set up a resource page at www.mchenrycountyil.gov/covid19resources for community members, businesses and nonprofits needing assistance as a result of the pandemic. To learn more about how you can protect yourself and your family against COVID-19, visit the Department of Health’s website at www.mcdh.info, and follow both the Department of Health and McHenry County on Facebook and Twitter.
