Village Of Holiday Hills Board met Jan. 20.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Call to Order

President French called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Please note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Clerk Kirchner attended the meeting via phone. The meeting was held at the Village Hall and, due to the fact that the State of Illinois was under Tier 3 COVID-19 guidelines, the Village Hall was closed to the public. President French was prepared to wire a speaker for any residents who wished to listen from outside, but there was no audience. Proper social distancing was observed.

Roll Call

Board members present: President Lou French; Trustees Kathy Andrews, Terri Beaudoin, Jeff Giles, Lisa Maier, Cheryl Thompson, Rich Young

Board members absent: None

Staff present: Treasurer Melanie Gatza, Police Corporal Eric Schmidke, Clerk Maura Kirchner (electronically)

President’s Report (Lou French)

President French pointed out that he has nothing on the agenda due to the fact that he is trying to keep the meetings short and to conduct regular village business only. He said that COVID-19 is spreading quickly now and that this is also flu season. He asked those in attendance to follow safety guidelines.

Clerk’s Report (Maura Kirchner)

Approve minutes for 12/16/2020 Board Meeting: Clerk Kirchner asked for a motion. Motion: Thompson

Treasurer’s Report (Melanie Gatza)

Approve financial report: Request motion to approve the financial report. Motion: Andrews

Approve warrant: Request motion to approve warrant. Prior to the vote Trustee Andrews asked about a bill for furnace repair. President French responded that Trustee Giles replaced a motor himself and did not charge for labor. President French also said that the village needs a new HVAC system and Trustee Giles concurred. President French said that this will be done during the springtime.

Note: Due to Director Dzialo’s absence, President French gave the report. Approve final payment to Geske and Sons, Inc. (not to exceed $48,981.27): President French asked for a motion.

Public Comment

Ms. Janet Busonic emailed a public comment to Clerk Kirchner who read it aloud. Ms. Busonic asked who won the $500 golf cart decorating contest. President French said that there were several categories and the prize money was split up.

Ms. Busonic also opined that she does not see enough police presence. President French thanked her for her comment.
