Report: Prairie Grove School District spent $16,158 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Prairie Grove Community School District 46 was up 14.6 percent from five years ago, according to the McHenry Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mchenry County school district spent $14,097 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,158 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 758 to 712 students over the same period.

Prairie Grove's spending in 2019-20 was 11.5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
