Mark Carroll for Congress has issued the following press release:

North Aurora, IL, June 7 – Mark Carroll For Congress responds to the advertisement of requested funds for the Naperville, Illinois Riverwalk:

“You just have to spend time at home, in the district, with individuals that have real problems. People are making tough decisions to just to get to work. Should they pay the food bill as they usually do or put gas in the car? Can one afford to support the local business or do they have to find another avenue at reduced cost,” questions Carroll. “The fact that this Riverwalk is even a consideration during times like this is absurd and clearly goes to show everybody that the concerns of one, does not represent the concerns of many.

The Democratic Incumbent’s Facebook page states:

“I've recently announced over $28 million in funding requests for IL-11 community projects, and I'm proud to submit them for consideration.”

“That includes funding for updates to the Naperville Riverwalk, an iconic landmark of our district. This funding would help improve accessibility so that everyone can enjoy the riverwalk.

“There are issues the people of IL-11 hold as more pressing than updates to a Riverwalk! There are babies who might not get the nourishment necessary due to the formula shortage,” states Mark. “The simple fact that this is even being promoted by Foster as a ‘top priority’ shows he is not listening to the people. I know that people want to see declining prices, stocked shelves, and increases in safety.”

According to a survey by SafeWise: “In our most recent State of Safety Survey, daily concern shot up 36% in Illinois, with violent crime being Illinoisan’s’ biggest worry. Only 42% of Illinois residents told us they feel safe in their state, compared to 55% nationally. And 64% say they feel high daily concern about their safety…We couldn’t rank the safest cities in Illinois this year because the FBI determined that the state did not follow national UCR Program guidelines for reporting an offense.”

“There is little to no chance that families in IL-11 who are sacrificing their children’s extra curriculars in order to make ends meet, spend the almost six dollars per gallon driving to come enjoy the Riverwalk, especially from the Northern portions of the district, like those in Lake, McHenry, DeKalb, and Boone Counties,” continues Carroll.

“Sure, securing funding for communities represented is great but legislative change to ease burdens, while addressing law enforcement support within our communities is what we need to see,” proclaimed Carroll. “These grant requests the Democratic Incumbent is advertising just goes to show that it is time for him to depart his office and allow somebody like me to move in to address inflation and crime concerns on a National level.”

Mark Joseph Carroll is endorsed by several townships, organizations, and elected officials throughout Illinois’ 11th Congressional District. IL-11 encompasses portions of Lake, McHenry, Boone, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Cook and Will counties. For more information head to www.markcarrollforcongress.com.
