Q2 2022 Recap: 4 parolees from McHenry County convicted of crimes involving alcohol set for release

There were four offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol living in McHenry County released on parole during the second quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the McHenry Times.

The data shows three men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol was 50. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced in 2016, and the oldest was a 70-year-old woman sentenced in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Karsten Eilersten. He was convicted in 2016 when he was 21 years old. He is now 28.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
