City of Harvard Transportation Committee met March 22.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Chairperson Charles Gorman called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Committee members present were Chairperson Charles Gorman, Alderwoman Lisa Haderlein, Alderman Mathew Perkins, and Alderman John Lavallee. Also present were Mayor Mike Kelly, City Administrator Lou Leone, Finance Director Deb Bejot, and Code Enforcement Officer Anne Nutley.
A quorum was established.
Public Comment: None
2023 MFT Road Repair Program.
Chairman Gorman started things off by summarizing the road program including the roadways designated for preservation. It was noted that Eighth Street from Northfield to Blaine needed to be added to the road preservation list. There was further discussion on the type of preservation method to be used. It was determined that the city engineer will determine the method of preservation to be used on each road surface. A motion was made to recommend to the Council the designated roads for preservation, the list to include Eighth Street from Northfield to Blaine, motion made by Alderman Perkins, seconded by Alderman Lavallee. All ayes, motion passed. A motion was made to recommend to the Council to do the stop gap process as listed by staff. Motion made by Alderman Perkins, seconded by Alderman Lavallee. All ayes, the motion passed.
Post Office Sidewalk:
Finance Director Deb Bejot discussed the opportunity to have the city engineer move forward with the engineer work on the three alternatives for the Post Office sidewalk. A motion was made to direct staff to have the city engineer work on the alternatives to the Post Office sidewalk after May 1, 2023. Motion made by Alderman Perkins, seconded by Alderman Lavallee. All ayes, motion passed.
New Business: None.
Adjournment: A motion to adjourn was made by Alderwoman Haderlein, seconded by
Alderman Perkins. All ayes, motion passed.
