City of McHenry Board of Police Commissioners met Oct. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Police Chairman Sue Meyer called the meeting to order at 2:00 pm in the Police Administration Conference Room with the following Commissioners present John Jones and Stephen Doherty. Also present was Chief John Birk; Deputy Chief Tom Walsh and Administrative Assistant Deb Shuett.

Public Comment

None.

1. Motion to Approve August 2, 2023 Meeting Report

Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to approve meeting minutes. Police Commissioner John Jones and second by Police Commissioner Stephen Doherty to approve the minutes from the August 2, 2023, meeting. Police Commission meeting as presented. All ayes, motion carried.

2. Unfinished Business

Personnel Update – Officer Peter Mader, due to an on-duty injury, has resigned from his position as Patrol Officer effective October 9th.

Have re-advertised on The Blue Line for lateral applications.

Trevor Pederson and Matthew Meyers are doing well in the Field Training program.

Steven Barjaktarevic and Justin McCauley are going well in the academy.

3. New Business

Entry Level List – Just started doing background checks on Aaron Rapacz and Christopher Cummings.

May have to start the process of creating a new Eligibility List.

4. Communications

The following bill(s) were presented for approval:

Adjournment

Motion by Police Chairman Sue Meyer to adjourn meeting. Police Commissioner Stephen Doherty and second by Police Commissioner John Jones to adjourn the meeting at 2:15 pm. All ayes, motion carried.
