Village of Cary Board of Trustees met Oct. 17.

ATTENDANCE

Village Board of Trustees

Mayor Mark Kownick, Trustee Dale Collier, Trustee Ellen McAlpine, Trustee Anthony Stefani, Trustee Rick Walrath, Trustee Jennifer Weinhammer

Absent: Trustee Rick Dudek

Others Present

Village Administrator Morimoto, Assistant Village Administrator Sage, Community Development Director Simmons, Public Works Director Noonan, Police Chief Finlon, Finance Manager Lahey, Village Attorney Uhler

I. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Kownick at 6:00 p.m.

II. Roll Call

The roll was called. Trustee Dudek was absent.

III. Pledge of Allegiance

Mayor Kownick led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.

IV. Open Forum

Joseph Smoot, 54 Wagner Drive, stated he does not like that the sewer portion of his utility bill is calculated based on the actual meter read of his water usage.

Mayor Kownick requested Mr. Smoot contact him or staff directly to schedule a meeting to discuss his concerns.

There being no further comments, Mayor Kownick closed Open Forum at 6:06 p.m.

V. Mayor's Report

A. Proclamation - National Red Ribbon Week: "Be Kind To Your Mind. Live Drug Free."

Mayor Kownick proclaimed October 23-31, 2023, as National Red Ribbon Week. B. Proclamation - World Polio Day

Mayor Kownick proclaimed October 24, 2023, as World Polio Day.

VI. Trustee Reports

None.

VII. Consent Agenda

Motion:

I will entertain a motion to approve Consent Agenda Items A-D as shown on the Village's website and as displayed on the video monitor during the Village Board meeting.

Motion moved by Trustee McAlpine and motion seconded by Trustee Weinhammer.

Motion Passed.

AYES: Collier, McAlpine, Stefani, Walrath, Weinhammer

NAYS: None.

ABSTAIN: None.

A. Consider for Approval the Warrant Dated October 17, 2023

B. Consider for Approval the October 3, 2023, Village Board Meeting Minutes

C. Consider for Approval the October 3, 2023, Committee of the Whole Meeting Minutes

D. Consider for Approval an Ordinance Amending Village of Cary Municipal Code Title 10 - Vehicles and Traffic, Chapter 10.32 - Parking, Section 10.32.010 - Limited Parking

VIII. Administrator's Report

None.

IX. Department Head Reports

Chief Finlon stated the Police Department will be holding a drug take-back program on October 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Cary Municipal Center for residents to dispose of unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Director Noonan provided an update on the Downtown Streetscape project stating the mast arms on the light poles will be installed later this week, and planters and parking delineators will be installed next week.

Motion:

There being no further items to discuss, Mayor Kownick entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:11 p.m.

Motion moved by Trustee McAlpine and motion seconded by Trustee Collier. Motion Passed.

NAYS: None.

ABSTAIN: None.
