Nicholas Stegg has been sentenced to nine years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Throughout 2021, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force received information regarding Stegg actively selling large amounts of cocaine in the Harvard, IL area and was actively investigating this individual.

On January 7, 2022, the Narcotics Task Force executed a search warrant on Stegg’s residence on Marengo Road in Harvard, IL. A search of the residence revealed approximately 196 grams of cocaine, packaging materials, cutting agents, and digital scales. Stegg was apprehended separately during a concurrent traffic stop, arrested and charged.

McHenry County State's Attorney Patrick D. Kenneally recognized the diligence and exceptional investigative work of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Task Force. "Their thorough investigation led to a successful prosecution," he said, attributing part of this success to "the hard work of McHenry County Assistant State's Attorney Fara Momen."
