Village of Johnsburg President and Board of Trustees met Oct. 15

President Hettermann called the meeting to order at 7:02 p.m. in the Village Hall.

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION: No comments from the public.

OMNIBUS AGENDA – Trustee Morris moved to approve the Omnibus Agenda. Trustee Foreman seconded the motion. Trustee Letzter requested the removal of the Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the Illinois Office of the Comproller and the Village of Johnsburg. All Trustees voted aye on the roll on the remaining agenda items. Motion carried.

● Move to approve the minutes of the October 1, 2024 Regular Meeting of the President and Board of Trustees

● Move to approve Final Pay Request in the amount of $110,293.99 to Peter Baker and Sons for the 2023 Road Program.

● Move to approve Final Pay Request in the amount of $48,978.90 to Peter Baker and Sons for the 2024 Road Program

● Move to approve Ordinance 24-25-09 Accepting the Roadway Commonly Known as Sunnyside Beach Drive in the Village of Johnsburg, Illinois

● Move to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the Illinois Office of the Comptroller and the Village of Johnsburg regarding Access to the Comptroller’s Local Debt Recovery Program. (removed)

LOCAL DEBT RECOVERY PROGRAM - Trustee Fouke moved to approve an Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the Illinois Office of the Comptroller and the Village of Johnsburg regarding Access to the Comptroller’s Local Debt Recovery Program. Trustee Letzter seconded the motion. Trustee Letzter questioned if the Village participated in the program in the past. Village Administrator Sofiakis stated the Village has not been a participant and explained that the program provides a means to recoup outstanding fines and fees owed to the Village. Attorney Smoron elaborated on the program and pointed out that it is also may help to reduce legal costs associated with collecting unpaid fines and fees while helping the Village recover money that it is owed. All Trustees voted aye on the roll. Motion carried

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – President Hettermann discussed the upcoming meeting scheduled for November pointing out that the first meeting will be held on Thursday November 7th due to the election.

The regular meeting scheduled for November 19th will proceed, but the Committee of the Whole meeting will be canceled due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

President Hettermann and Trustee Foreman presented Certificates of Recognition to Johnsburg Junior High School students who volunteered their time to clean up areas of the Fox River in association with the It’s Our Fox River Day event.

ADJOURNMENT – Trustee Foreman moved to adjourn the meeting. Trustee Hagen seconded the motion. All Trustees voted aye on the roll. Motion carried at 7:11 p.m.
