McHenry County taxpayers paid $674,246 in County Motor Fuel Tax in February, according to Illinois tax records.

This figure marks a noticeable increase over the previous month, when County Motor Fuel Tax collection stood at $672,903.

Over the past 12 months, McHenry County's residents have collectively paid a total of $8.1 million in County Motor Fuel Tax.

The County Motor Fuel Tax is a local sales tax levied on motor fuels, with revenue dedicated to transportation infrastructure projects such as road construction, maintenance, and repair. It aims to enhance road conditions, improve safety, and facilitate efficient transportation.
