Senators Craig Wilcox and Dave Syverson are organizing a free Medicare information seminar in Wonder Lake on September 30. The event aims to help people better understand the federal Medicare program, including those already enrolled and individuals approaching eligibility.
“The federal Medicare system can be tricky to navigate, and it is important that enrollees ensure they have adequate coverage between Medicare and supplemental plans that are available,” said Wilcox. “We are bringing in experts that can help current enrollees understand the system, and help those approaching Medicare eligibility prepare to apply for coverage.”
The seminar will take place at Harrison School from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Attendees are asked to use Entrance #1 at 6809 McCullom Lake Road.
“Facilitated by the Illinois Department on Aging, the Medicare 101 Seminar includes information about who is eligible, coverage details, and how to get help with out-of-pocket expenses. There is also a question-and-answer period if you need it,” Wilcox added. “It’s a good opportunity to talk with people who know the system well.”
Representatives from the Illinois Department on Aging will provide an overview of eligibility requirements, enrollment procedures, benefits, and other key aspects of Medicare. The session will also feature a question-and-answer segment.
Wilcox was elected as a Republican state senator in 2018 for Illinois' 32nd Senate District, succeeding Pamela Althoff.
