The Village of Lake in the Hills is seeking bids on its 2016 Water Conditioning Bulk Softener Salt Contract.
Water salts are a specific type of salt added to water to remove calcium and magnesium particles. At certain levels, calcium and magnesium can cause sediment build-up that can cause blockages, damage equipment and limit the water's effectiveness for household uses, such as washing dishes or showering.

The deadline for submissions is 10 a.m. on Nov. 25.
