Village of McCullom Lake holds special meeting

Councilmeeting3

A discussion of a senate bill and police department vehicles were on the agenda for the Dec. 8 Special Meeting of the Village of McCullom Lake Board of Trustees and President.

One of the items on the communications agenda was Senate Bill 2039, which will see the government send out money for  Local Government Distributive Fund taxes, motor fuel, the lottery and video gaming.

It was also brought to the attention of the trustees that President Terry Counley received three quotes for back snowplowing, though he was not happy about the amount of the quotes. Two of the quotes were for $75 and one was for $70. The board will hold off on approval of bids until it receives additional quotes.

The board members also took a look and discussed the monthly police report. A new squad is expected to be launched and running within the week. The force was having issues with the Crown Victoria, which is in the shop with overheating issues. The police department requested to keep the SUV through the winter, as the vehicle has four-wheel drive and can make it on the road more safely.
