The LITH Zoning and Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on yard requirements in February.
A public hearing will be held by the Lake in the Hills (LITH) Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, Feb. 16, focusing on a petition from a local resident.
Russell and Doreen Ruzanski have submitted a petition to request a variance on a portion of the zoning ordinance. In section 7.4 of the ordinance, it states that there is a required setback for the backyard for a single family residence of at least 25 feet.
The owners of the property are hoping to add a screen room to cover the deck of their home. This would require space from the backyard. As a result of this, they are requesting that this requirement be moved to 12 feet. The home is located on Starwood Pass and is within the R-2 One Family Dwelling District.
The public nature of this meeting will allow testimony and evidence to be submitted regarding the application. Local residents may find a copy of the petition in order to review the specifics of this case at the LITH Community Development Department between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Village Hall.
