The Woodstock Environmental Commission and Cultural and Social Awareness Commission will hold a joint meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in City Hall to continue a discussion of a reusable bag initiative in the city.
The agenda states that this meeting will focus on updates for the community reusable bag effort and research that has been done on this matter within the city. Discussions are scheduled to include the cost of purchasing cloth bags, submissions for the design of the bags from students and wholesale pricing of the bags for retailers. According to the agenda there would also be sponsorship space on the bags.
A goal of the initiative is to have at least one reusable bag per household in the city.
Surveys for the community and retailers within the city will also be considered and an overall discussion will be held to determine the future role of surveys as the project moves forward. Marketing materials will also be discussed during this joint session.
The agenda reports that a subcommittee will also be formed to facilitate progress for the reusable bag initiative.
