Woodstock Environmental Commission to discuss mosquito abatement

The Woodstock Environmental Commission will meet at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Woodstock Environmental Commission is an advisory panel responsible for preparing and updating an environmental plan for the city of Woodstock, looking to the development of the city, including open spaces, municipal parks, conservation areas, wetlands, water recharge areas and forests. It is also charged with providing input and advice to the City Council on environmental issues and with fostering communication regarding ongoing environmental protection and oversight efforts. The commission meets as needed in Woodstock City Hall, 121 W. Calhoun St.

The city of Woodstock Environmental Commission will hold a special meeting on Thursday, May 26, 2016,at 5:30 p.m. in the Woodstock City Hall Council Chambers (second floor), 121 W. Calhoun St.. Members are asked to confirm attendance with their Commission Liaison (Tom Migatz,Assistant Director of Public Works) at 815-338-6118.

I. Call to Order and Roll Call

A. Call to order by Commission Chair at 5:30 p.m. and roll call by Clerk

II. Approval of Minutes from the May 5, 2016, meeting

III. Public Comment

IV. Discussion Items

A. Develop action items ranking matrix from Environmental Plan Recommendations List

B. Mention of council request to explore mosquito spraying alternatives

C. Request by Commissioner Ellinghausen to explore options related to salt brine used to process potable water

V. Adjourn to Special Joint Meeting with Cultural and Social Awareness Commission at 6:00 p.m.
