The Illinois Farm Bureau’s (IFB) nonpartisan ACTIVATOR, a political involvement fund with a mission to elect pro-farm candidates regardless of party affiliation or office, recently endorsed Republican Allen Skillicorn of East Dundee for state representative in District 66.
IFB’s funding arm said it based its endorsement on Skillicorn’s views, his dedication to improving Illinois’ business environment and his demonstrated commitment to advocate for farmers throughout his district. Skillicorn also has shown support for tax exemptions on agricultural supplies. Additionally, ACTIVATOR highlighted Skillicorn for comprehending the demanding schedule and workflow to which farmers must adhere.
“The ACTIVATOR trustee committee agreed that Allen Skillicorn is the candidate for the job,” ACTIVATOR trustee committee Chairman Dan Ziller said. “We look forward to helping him get elected as state representative for the 66th (House) District.”
The IFB ACTIVATOR endorsement not only represents the group’s confidence in Skillicorn’s overall approach to the office, but indicates a trust that the candidate’s priorities are aligned with those of Illinois’ farmers. Agriculture is Illinois’ largest economic sector.
The IFB ACTIVATOR operates as a voluntary, nonprofit fund supporting the well-being of farmers on multiple levels. Its trustees comprise local Farm Bureau leaders from each of the state’s legislative districts.
