The village of Cary will offer residents an opportunity to throw away items that are not usually accepted on trash days during its Spring Clean Up Week.
The village has partnered with Advanced Disposal to provide the collection. During the week of April 24, residents can leave their unwanted items at the curb on their regularly scheduled trash collection day. Items must be at the curb by 7 a.m.; the company will not make a special trip to your residence if your items are not outside.
In order for trash to be collected, it must be in bagged, less than 4 feet in length and weigh less than 50 pounds. The village suggests cutting down items that may exceed these limitations. All mattresses must be placed in bags, and all needles must be disposed of in a puncture-proof container.
The following items will not be accepted: tires; batteries, including automobile batteries; landscape materials; household hazardous waste, including paint; gas tanks; root balls; sod; dirt; rocks; concrete; propane tanks; appliances; computers, including monitors and other related equipment; fencing; firewood; or 8-foot glass doors or mirrors.
