Burton Township Board of Trustees met February 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Supervisor Jones called the regular monthly meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Village Hall, Spring Grove, IL.

Roll call present: Supervisor Jones, Clerk Shetsky, Road Commissioner Sutton, Trustees; Eileen Miller, John Flood, Merrilee Anhalt, Dennis Riechert and Assessor Jessica Hubert.

Guest: Ted Trzaskowski

Supervisor Jones led those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance.

The minutes of the regular meeting held on January 09, 2018 were read. Trustee: John Flood made a motion to accept the minutes as read, seconded by Trustee: Eileen Miller. The accounts payable were presented for payment for the various funds, they were audited, initialed and ordered paid.

Supervisors Report:

•When Sam looked in to purchasing a subscription to the Northwest Herald for the Township’s use he found they no longer offer a onetime annual payment.

Sam does not want to pay monthly, so he decided to allow Burton Township to take over his subscription that is set up for a one time annual payment.

Trustee John Flood made a motion to reimburse Sam the amount of $75.00, for three months of the subscription that he paid before Burton Township took it over and was seconded by Trustee Merrilee Anhalt. Voice Vote, all Ayes motion carries.

•Verizon is now the carrier for Burton Townships’ phone service. We will be changing our email addresses. Sam will provide our new email addresses via email.

•The new host for our website will be changing to “Round Cube”, at a low cost of under $100.00.

•There was a representative from Woodstock at the last Supervisors meeting who stated the consolidation cannot be done without studies proving it will save money.

Road & Bridge:

•No issues during the last snow storm.

•Dan placed another salt order to keep a good supply.

Rumor has it the price of salt will be going up.

•One of the trucks needed an air dryer replaced

Assessor Report:

• McHenry County’s blog stated that Burton Township had the best COD population which measures our margin of error or assessment holding at 8%.

•Jessica is working on a PTAB appeal she should complete next week.

•Sales data and Homestead exemptions.

•Jessica will be out of town February 28th through March 3rd, 2018.

Adjournment of Regular Meeting:

A motion was made by Trustee: Merrilee Anhalt to adjourn the meeting at 7:23 pm it was seconded by Trustee: Eileen Miller, voice vote all ayes, motion carried.
