Report: Johnsburg spent $12,599 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Johnsburg Community Unit School District 12 is up 7 percent from five years ago, according to a McHenry Times analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mchenry County school district spent $11,794 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,599 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2247 to 1903.

Johnsburg's spending in 2016-17 was 3 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
