Huntley Fire Protection District responded to 602 calls in 2017 - 7.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Huntley included 98 fires - 55 structure fires, nine vehicle fires and 34 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $1,399,678 in fire loss - or about $14,282 per fire.
The department also received 502 false calls, including two malicious calls and 500 other false calls.
Three fire service member were injured in non fire-related incidents.
The Huntley Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $9,876,610 in 2017.
The Huntley FPD Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 56 active employees and 10 retired or inactive employees, was $178,297 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $2,547 for every fire in 2016.
