Harvard Community Unit School District 50 issued the following announcement on Feb. 21.
At last night’s public meeting, the Harvard CUSD 50 Board of Education honored two students for recent accomplishments.
The board recognized sophomore Emma Ackland for her selection as WHIW Harvard Community Radio‘s Athlete of the Month for girls basketball.

Sophomore Bryce Fiegel was recognized for qualifying for sectionals for wrestling and for being WHIW‘s Athlete of the Month. Each student received a $20 gift certificate from First Place Promotions and Awards.

The board convenes every month in open, public meetings to discuss district business and hear citizens’ concerns. An agenda is posted publicly in advance of board meetings. The meeting schedule, agendas, and minutes are available on the board’s web page. The next public meeting is on March 20 at 7 p.m.
