CRYSTAL LAKE PARK DISTRICT: 2nd Session of Beyond the Bell Begins April 8

Crystal Lake Park District issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.

The Crystal Lake Park District is ready to kick off the 2nd session of Beyond the Bell-a partnership with two D47 schools to provide quality recreation programs immediately after the school day has ended. These programs are for students attending Husmann and West Elementary schools. Register online at www.crystallakeparks.org or in person at the Crystal Lake Park District Administrative Office, One East Crystal Lake Avenue, Crystal Lake. Beyond the Bell Class Descriptions

Empowering Kids, Grades 1-5

5 Classes

This is a fun, interactive program for teaching mindset training and empowering kids! Participants will learn how to use the power of their mind to: handle the ups and downs of growing up, see the positive in situations without getting down on themselves or giving up, create happiness and success regardless of their circumstances, think for themselves and make smart decisions and strive to accomplish their dreams. Classes are taught by a certified Adventures in Wisdom Coach, Kristi

Battaglia.

Fee: $85

Young Rembrandts, Grades 1-5

5 Classes

Young Rembrandts classes are fun, engaging and educational! Students will complete a new drawing each week and also participate in an art history lesson. Students will focus on detail, process, order, patience, discipline, all while increasing their confidence. All projects will be taken home throughout the session and all supplies will be provided.

Fee: $100

Yoga & Yogurt, Grades 1-5

5 classes

Yoga is a great way for a child to improve impulsiveness, help control emotions and ease stress. In a relaxed, fun and playful setting overlooking the lovely waters of Crystal Lake, students will learn tools to deal with stress and aid in concentration. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle to class. Registration deadline is 3 days prior to the start of class. A healthy yogurt snack will be provided at class.

Fee: $73

Video Game Lab, Grades 2-5

5 classes

Let's create a game on the PC with Xbox controllers! Using a visual programming language, students can learn about creativity, problem solving and collaboration. It's not just about programming. Stretch your imagination to design and build fun-filled, challenging games.
